Just as everything is energy, that is also true of magick, everything is magick. Through movies and TV shows especially, we’ve been shown spectacular things around magick – levitation, fireballs, flying broomsticks, superheroes with abilities, spell casting, and teleportation. Because of such associations and reference points, magick has been perceived as something “extraordinary”. Those things that we’ve seen in the movies and TV series are very much a part of magick, however that is not all there is to magick. Let’s go back to the statement I made earlier: “everything is magick”. Magick is found in everything including the “ordinary” day-to-day things that we deal with and encounter. I discovered a tune this week and while I do love to boogie, on this occasion I sat back, closed my eyes and listened to the instrumentals as they took me on a journey to a lush, green space and woodlands where everyone there was in their truest form. Great tune, great transportation, great gathering, and frickin’ awesome magick. Music is an everyday part of my world – and as I open up to view life to go beyond the five senses, I’m able to see the potency of the magick in a tune which honestly is about more than good beats and good vibes. That tune was a huge source of inspiration for me as it immediately opened me up to ideas within me for my own creative writing. Magick is all around us and within us too, and moves us in many ways – one just has to be open to the gifts it brings us all day long everyday of our existence.
