Friendly Fires’ Jump In The Pool is an apt tune for a number of reasons today. Firstly, if it’s hot in your neck of the woods and the fan is just not cutting it currently, one way to cool down is to visualise yourself in a pool – whether it’s a natural pool, a swimming pool or whatever your imagination envisages – this is a fabulous tune to help you visualise that. Secondly, Jump In The Pool indicates taking a leap of faith – if there’s something that you have been wanting to do and create in your life but have been hesitating, it is time to let go of the fear and dive in quite literally. And thirdly, it’s about entrusting your life to your true self and knowing that everything will work out. As the tune goes: “I looked at you I knew you wanted to, Jump in the pool, jump in the pool, I push out, I breathe in, A stillness turning away, Don’t look back, don’t pretend, We’ll never take control again, And before that we own the horizon, And only the water remains, The fear is falling away”.
Tune of the Day is a new divinatory series here on my blog where I share some musical vibes. Music is a very powerful tool with numerous messages to be gleaned from a tune, whether it’s got vocals on it or it’s purely instrumentals. It also has massive healing benefits too.
Whether you have an ear for music or are simply looking for divination of a different medium altogether, music most certainly moves us and offers guidance. And just like with tarot and any other form of divination, music will have different meanings to different readers or in this case listeners. With each Tune of the Day I provide a general overview of some of the messages I’ve got from the track, but of course you may listen to it and get different signs or symbols. Enjoy!
